Love of Little

Ever since I bought my new Cannon Macro lens, I find myself drawn to the details. I am inspired by textures and colors, and all the littles I seem to gravitate toward at flea markets. I love to buy trinkets and small decorations, if for no other purpose than to just look pretty in my home.

It was a fairly cold and slightly gloomy day today but I was feeling inspired by the natural light coming through my window in the office. So I grabbed my new lens and snapped a few shots to share on the blog in hopes of inspiring all of you with the little details. :)

Clothespinsnotexture

This one (above) has got to be my new all time favorite! I love the subtle color and textures at play.

Notions

Bits of paper and metal "notions" I purchased online from French General. I don't know how to make anything with them, but I had to have them. :)

Key

This little door pillow is from the shop, but I love it in this photo paired with this old key. It actually is the key to an old door I purchased at the flea market last year.

I took a bunch more photos, so I will break them into a few posts over the next few days. Lookout readers, I'm feeling inspired! :)

Vintage Paper, and Cigars

I am loving these new "Scrap Kits" we just got in for the shop. I have always had a thing for old cigar boxes, and just about everyone I know loves vintage papers and ephemera (including me!) so what better combination!?!?

Cigarblog

This one (above) has to be my favorite. I LOVE the color combination on the box.

Cigarblog3

Each kit includes two pre-drilled book boards covered in vintage paper; (They are also lined with end papers for the inside), paper for decorating, and fun bits of ephemera to get you started. (Old buttons, stamps, labels, tags, fasteners, mini-envelopes, and more....). All vintage papers are authentic and some of them date back to the 1800's. All you need to make your own personal scrap journal.

Cigarblog4

Each kit is unique, and one of a kind. The content varies from each one, and most are in keeping with the colors of the cigar box that houses them.

I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do.

Spring is in the air....

It's starting to feel a bit like spring around here.... I'm seeing Easter decor in the stores and spring fashion in the magazines... so I decided to change up my blog a bit for the season.

I also had my hair done yesterday and took a new "head shot" photo for the blog. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I actually did a whole mini photo shoot of myself with my remote control and tripod. I was hoping to get a few new pictures of myself actually feeling pretty. (Josh was out of town and I was home alone, so thank goodness no one saw me). I always love the way my hair looks the day I get it done, and I can never quite do it the same as my hair girl does, so I thought it was perfect timing. Hannah wanted to join in the fun, so she got in a few of the shots with me...  this one was one of my favorites.....

Meandhannah

The tripod needed a slight adjustment because Hannah's cute little nose got cut off in most of them. (Isn't she a sweetie? ) Anyway, it beats being embarrassed in front of someone else trying to take your picture! And I got to delete all the ones I didn't like!

Thanks to all you sweeties who already left a comment about my new photo! You are too kind!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine

Just a quick note to say Happy Valentine's Day to all my friends! May your holiday be filled with joy and surprises! Josh surprised me with these pretty flowers today. I wasn't expecting them, since he was away on a business trip and comes home later this evening. I may be odd, but I don't care for roses all that much... So he always gets the most cheerful bunches of flowers you have ever seen. They are always very exotic and colorful! (Not that he picks them out, but he must explain it really well on the phone when he orders them...lol..)

I'll be wishing happy thoughts for all of you while I am eating the crab leg dinner Josh is preparing for us. (Yummy!)  How did I get so lucky!?@?*!

Seven Random Facts

Guitar

I was tagged this last week by a few of my favorite bloggers to list seven random facts about myself. So I thought I would play along and hope you all may be interested!

1. I work in my pajamas. I usually will stay in them all day unless Josh is unable to ship out my orders for the day, in which case I have to go take a shower, get dressed and ship them myself. (Poor me, I know!)

2. I love getting the mail. I won't let Josh get the mail from the mailbox or look through it until after I have had a chance to look first. It's almost like getting presents, you know?

3. The name "Sadie Olive" was picked by Josh and I for our (someday) daughter. "Sadie" is a nickname for "Sara" and they both mean "a little princess", which I hoped to share with my daughter. And "Olive" because I love "old lady names" (as I like to call them) and Josh LOVES Olives.

4. No one has ever called me "Sadie" before I started the business, and now at least three people a day call me "Sadie" via email or this blog. :) I don't really mind at all, since I have never really had a "nickname" before. (At least not one I liked!).

5. My sisters and their husbands are my best friends. Aside from my husband, there is no one I would rather spend time with then the six of them.

6. When Josh is away on business I can hardly manage to feed myself and I live off t.v. dinners or microwave burritos. (Which is what I have been eating this whole week). I am not a good cook, but mostly it's laziness.

7. My new found love is a game called "Guitar Hero III", for Playstation 2 (a video game). My sisters and their husbands all play and I am practicing this week so we can compete next time I see them! I prettied up my guitar for this post. :)

Thanks Shelley, Bari, Anita, and anyone else who tagged me that I may have forgotten about. I tag all of you who want to play!

Don't forget that Friday is the last day to sign up for my give-away! I am blown away by the number of comments already! Good luck to all of you!
