I know I have been a terrible blogger lately. The truth is, I just never feel like I have interesting things to talk about. I am peeking in at your blogs every now and then and I love all the inspiration you all provide to me, but I haven't really felt like I have had inspiring things of my own to say. Am I the only one who feels this way? I don't know how some of you do it, always managing to have a fabulous picture and interesting story two or more times a week!
Maybe it's because I never leave my house? ..lol... The scene above (me at the computer in my office) is the scene at my house every day from 9:30am (yes I sleep in until then) till 6:30 (sometimes 12:30) at night. I have been working long hours mostly because Josh is traveling more and more and I am home alone most weekdays. I don't see people throughout the day, or even talk to other people sometimes! (Except via email which is all day and night long). I think it has made me a hermit... even more then I used to be before I worked from home. I used to just call myself a "homebody" but I think I may have graduated to "hermit" status this last year.
What is even more pathetic is that I think the guys who work at the shipping place are my closest friends! ..lol... Ok, maybe not my CLOSEST friends, but they are sometimes the only face to face contact I have in a day.
So here is my point... Unless I am talking about web design (which I know would bore some of you to death) or talking about what funny thing Hannah (our lab) did today, I don't have much to blog about. (Case in point - it's Saturday night at 8:00pm and I am BLOGGING!) But I promise, PROMISE, I am going to work on it.
I have been inspired by a few bloggers lately, but these three ladies take the cake this week in providing ME with inspiration....
Tonya - This girl is an amazing photographer! Her blog and website are stunning to look at and even more fun to read. She prompted my latest splurge this week with her new shootsac. (Sorry Tonya, I bought the same one as you, but only because I am a HUGE black and white fan, and who can resist black and white brocade! And you made me HAVE to have it with your gorgeous photos of your own!)
Tammy - Another amazing photographer. Tammy has similar tastes as I do, and I love, LOVE, the way she embellishes her photos. Vintage distressing, and muted colors... What's even more amazing is her latest post which showcases how she packages her killer handmade jewelry. (Tammy - I so love you for the inspiration!)
Alice - The multi-talented Alice, inspires me on many levels. Her website designs are layered in vintage goodness. I admire her style and her artistry. She (and her hubby) are also photographers and have an eye for beauty. (Alice it has been so nice getting to know you through your blog! )
Pay them a visit and be inspired!
I have two close friends in Romantic Homes this month. Lidy of French Garden House, and Chris of Lucys' Lounge at Tutti Chic. If you haven't seen Tara's article on these two gals, please go out and buy yourself a copy! It's so amazing to see your friends in the magazines you read (and I have to admit, even more fun for me to see the blog banners I created in print!) I am so happy for your girls and you both deserve it!

Hi Sara,
I thought I was the only one at home all week. I have been at home do my artwork all week long. I do get out in the mornings for
my walk.
The only things I have been talking about latey is my art. Well we talk about what we are doing at the moment I guess.
I'm sure the shipping guys love to see your pretty face.
Have a great weekend!

Sara!!!! I know it's hard when you are shut up all day staring at the same 4 walls(Oh yeah..)and you do have to get out once in a while(we had a big trip to the grocery store today ourselves..) ...and I am also at home blogging at 11:30pm (My hubby works all of the time too.)! I love your photos, the pictures of your home and your great projects... I know you work a lot,(and do amazing work.) So I guess I am saying that even if you just posted some of your photography (which I find amazing)from things around your home; it's enough eye candy to give me a ton of inspiration, and when you have time for fully blog, it's even more enriching. I hope I made sense, it is 11:30...

Sara! We are one in the same! I am a total hermit...I mostly only talk to the lady at the post office during the week...and she IS NOT a talker...LOL! And I often feel that I don't have anything to offer inspiration/entertaining wise, other than what my dog Renoir has been up to...hehe! At least you get up by 9:30am...I am ashamed to admit I have not mastered that yet with this whole working from home thing...but I totally am up till well past 3am some nights...yikes! I should get a life...lol! Thanks for the plug...hope to do the same for you real soon! Oh and I just spent saturday night blogging as well...you are so not alone!

Love the shot of you at the computer....I can so relate!! I always said I would not be one of those people who was always sitting at the computer....sigh....but alas, I have turned into just that not to mention also sitting at the sewing machine and sitting in the car to go to the post office and the antiques stores to find more supplies!!
But, I have to say I find what you blog about to be quite interesting even if it is just "day to day" stuff for you :)
I remain a fan of yours....keep up the great work!!

They are running it right now...I hope so..if you just missed it, you should email jessica and asked to be added into the drawing...i am sure she would...they are giving up to 1800 for a new lens...has me wishing I could buy one all over again! I love the brocade one...i am glad you picked it up!
Thanks again for the shout out! Have a great night...

Hi Sara!
I thought I was the only one who's closest friend was the post office clerk? :) Seriously though, I love coming over here and seeing what delightful new things you've found and created. But, I can totally understand about having blog burn-out occasionally. Sometimes it takes a few days to be re-inspired by life and you just need some "me" time. We all have that. Thanks for sharing some of your favorite sites with us. :)
Hugs, Bebe :)
P.S. Enjoyed the story about you in the previous Romantic Homes!

Hi Sara,
I am with you kiddo, always alone in my studio, not actually verbally talking with anyone, just emails, me and my 3 dogs. Lucky for me the kids are home from college for the summer, so I actually talk to someone! :) And by the way when you do blog, it's always filled with inspiration for me!
Happy Sunday

I love your blog, more people love your blog than you know. Most of us just want to hear about the everyday things. It's not boring to all of us who love blogs.I'm envious that you get to have bedhead and be comfy,in such a beautiful home. You took a nothing house, and turned it into such a cute home.Every room you decorated is perfect, it looks outstanding. You are so talented.I love your on-line store and will be shopping soon.

I feel exactly the same way my friend but I must tell you that your blog is one of the blogs that inspires me the most... I don't get time to look at blogs often but there is something about your style that draws me back time and time again that is why I so wanted to work on a little project with you...I am definitely a hermit, and most weeks my best mates are my dear friends at the local post office so I think we are pretty similar.....Just remember you touch new hearts daily with people who are just seeing your blog for the first time and I can insure you, you are inspiring them in so many ways and your photography is so very beautiful. Keep up the amazing work and I hope you like the parcel when it arrives...
Love cathy xxxx
