Light filled rooms

I decided to take some new pictures of my house today to share on the blog. Both my front family room and my guest room face the street and get an abundance of light pouring in during the morning hours. I love the look of the dark wood floors in the guest room when they are lit up by sunlight... so I started snapping a few pictures...

Well my kitty, Mason, decided that I must be shooting pictures of him, so he began to really ham it up.

Kittytummy

With every click of my camera, he would adjust his pose ever so slightly and hold perfectly still until he heard the next click.... it was as if he were a professional model or something.... I started talking in a sweet little voice to him telling him how handsome he was, and he kept on and on... until I started laughing at him... and then he stopped. (I think he was insulted).

Kitty

This one was my favorite. :)

I then took this picture of my front room... it's actually my attempt at recreating a picture that Woman's Day took of my home for their article that they didn't end up using in the magazine. I loved the color and perspective of the image so I tried my best to duplicate the look on my own.

Creamroom

I was pleased with how it turned out.....

Anyway, I hope you all are having a great weekend!

I just love your photography...you are so very talented!!!

I am also a cat-lover, so the pictures of Mason were nothing short of spectacular. I really wish I could get pictures like that of my two kitties, but I think I would have to invest in a better camera than my small digital Nikon!!!

I'm so glad I visited your blog today.

The sunlit dark wood floor looks fabulous.
Oh what a ham mason is!!

What a handsome kittyman! I currently have 3 myself and love them to death. I recently had my wood floors refinished and I was wanting the dark color, but my "floor man" talked me out of it, said it would show dust too much!

Love the cat...major ham~bone~ism going on there...fun! Thank you for the shot of your oh~so~cool front room....I heart that pillow a lot.

Great photos.

Hi Sara! WOW! I knew months ago that you were headed in this direction with your wonderful talent! I just love looking at your photos through your eyes. So inspiring and you capture beauty in such a unique way. LOVE IT! Keep up the good work sweetie! Have a wonderful weekend :) ~ Joy

Hi Sara, Mason looks so relaxed and happy posing on the bed there for you. I love the way the dark floors look in the sunlight. Your pictures are wonderful as usual . Have a wonderful weekend.~~Norma.

Mason is a natural!!! My kitty Bailey does the same thing...Maybe we should send them to Modeling School? lol
Love your photography, the muted colors are absolutely stunning. Speaking of which, I purchased Budget Decorating and the first page I opened was your beautiful home!!! Loved the article!
Have a great Sunday!

You sure have a beautiful and peaceful-looking home!
I have a tabby cat, too, named Melody. She likes to lay on her back like that as well. I think it's her way of saying, "rub my belly, oh human! It is your purpose in life to please me!" (Her 'sister,' a tuxedo named Nutmeg, never goes belly-up. Maybe it's a tabby thing?)

Your home looks so tranquil, I adore your guest room. Mason is gorgeous too, hamming it up like that :) Thanks for sharing!

Your home is so tranquil, Sara. Your Mason is like my Clyde. Looks a little sheepish about getting his photo taken, but poses for me nevertheless. He knows he's really handsome, and he luxuriates in the attention he knows he fully deserves!
