I wanted to share a few pictures of my home office. I know some of these photos have already been seen in the Dovetales article, but I have added a few more recent pictures into the mix.
The space has really come a long way from the blank space we started with. I am loving the bits of orange and red around the space, it seems to really warm things up nicely. And I love having a way to display and use all the wire baskets I collect (some vintage and some new). I also traded out the black and white numbers above my desk for a chalkboard and two oil paintings I purchased from Heather. They tie in with the antique sewing desk (in the middle of the room) so perfectly.
The old door I purchased at the Long Beach flea market blends right in with the autumn inspired color pallet. (It's a yellowy-cream). It's funny because I don't think I would ever set out to purchase "orange" home decor, but somehow I acquired quite a few pieces over the years that all seem to play well together. The orange stool you see with the polka dot bobbins, I actually purchased five or so years ago at our first house. It was a flea market find and there were actually two matching stools, and I constantly beat myself up for only buying one of them. (When I went back to buy the second one, it had already sold).
I hope you enjoyed my little tour. It's a fun space that keeps me inspired; and inspiration is a must in a home office.

What a GORGEOUS studio! How do you do that? Ann's and mine is always a disaster...cardboard boxes full of old books all over the floor, paper scraps everywhere, production table piled full of crap--I mean scrap...I am jealous!

Completely stunning!
I lack the "accessorizing" gene so Im in total awe of your way with storage and display that makes it all look so casual but elegant at the same time.

I'm so jealous. I have to share an office with my husband. I love him but his organizational skills are not his forte! Fortunately I have my studio space where inspiration resides. I love your floors and have been meaning to ask you about them. Are they hardwood? Would love to know. Thanks, Sara, for the inspiring photos.
