A few weeks ago I took my first ever trip to Rogers Garden's. It was as beautiful as I had heard and was full of inspiration and amazement. Luckily I was there when a few of the Halloween goodies were marked down, and I was able to add a few fun new items to my collection. (Pictures to come in a day or two).
I headed back a few days later with my sister and two nieces and snapped a few pictures to share. (Sorry about the glare in some, it was a HOT and very BRIGHT day!)
If you haven't visited this magical place, now is as good a time as any, as all of the Christmas decor is already being set up! You won't be disappointed and you certainly will leave inspired!

This weekend I had the pleasure of chasing after two young brothers, and trying to capture the special moments they shared together at the beach. Ryan and Jake were two fireballs of energy and both were such fun to get to know over our three hours together. It took awhile for the two of them to warm up to me (and my camera) following their every move, but I think the memories they let me share with them are ones that Mom and Dad will love having preserved.
Here are a few of my favorites from our day together:

Meet Samantha... she's the darling little girl that my sister looks after. We had a little photo session with her yesterday since it was her mom's birthday. She wasn't really into it until we gave her the lollipop... and then she was perfectly content where ever we posed her. Don't lollipop's make everything better?

Melissa, is my friend Tyler's little sister. She is part of that extended family I mentioned in my last two posts. She too has been like another sister to me growing up, and I love having her and Tyler in my life. Seven years ago, Melissa gave birth to a beautiful little girl named Charlee, and I even got to be in the room when she did so. I watched closely (and half of the time with my eyes covered) as she delivered this tiny miracle into our lives...
Charlee is growing up so quickly and she is a smaller version of her beautiful mother. I was lucky enough to photograph the stunning Miss Charlee (and a few of this dynamic duo) yesterday and wanted to share some of my favorites again....
The first few remind me so much of Alice in Wonderland.... which coincidentally Charlee will be for Halloween! So perfect for her!

Tyler has been my best friend since the fourth grade. Since the day she walked up to me on the playground and said "hi, do you wanna play with me?". We have been through a lot together, and our friendship has survived countless boyfriends, distance, and years. She has always been another sister to me, and her mom and sisters have always felt like my own.
That's why when she had her first child a few years back, it felt like I gained another nephew. She has two sweet boys now, and I love them just as much as I love Tyler. Gavin and Fletcher are amazing and are spitting images of their handsome daddy, Randy.
We don't see each other as often as when we were younger, but the time we do spend together is priceless to me. That's why yesterday, I had such a fun time just hanging out with them. We had lunch, took a trip to the beach, and dressed the boys up for a few snap shots. And when that was finished, we went shopping at Roger's Garden's (my first visit there), and then went for a drink at Muldoon's. It was a perfect day, and I wish there could be more days like that in our lives!
Here are a few of my favorite snap shots of the boys from yesterday.
I just love this family, and can't wait to take some more pictures of these two little angels. :)

Since I have started taking up photography more and more, I have been trying to get Josh to do a shoot with me, but it has been one excuse after another as to why he couldn't (or wouldn't). But finally on my birthday the other day I caught him just before we left to dinner and made him go outside for a few pictures.
It was TORTURE trying to get him to take me seriously and actually act casual, so instead I got about a hundred of these whiny, complaining shoots....
But after all that, I think I actually captured ONE good one...
Josh and I have an anniversary coming up. On October 16th we will have been married for four years. (At least I think it's been four years?!?!!? I can't seem to remember the year we got married? I think it was 2004? I AM getting old!!!)
It's been a whirlwind of ups and downs, but it's been an unbelievable comfort to have a best friend by my side and always there for me.
I love you Josh and look forward to the many more years together!

Today is my birthday. I'm 32. Not sure yet how I feel about that number!?!?! But it feels OLD. :)
We celebrated with the family at the Olive Garden last night. (I love their eggplant parmesan, salad, and breadsticks). And today Josh is spending some time with me, just the two of us. Birthday's aren't quite what they used to be when we were younger, but I can honestly say I am having a great one this year.
