Happy New Year!

Simple
In honor of the new year, and just an overall change in scenery, I have decided to change blog hosts. My new blog is at http://www.sadieolive.com/theblog. Please update your bookmarks and continue to visit me. Even though my new blog design is focused more around my photography, I will continue to share photos of my home, and give shop updates, and continue along the same lines as I have done with this blog over the last two years.

The new blog is hosted on my own site (one of the main reasons for my switch) and is through Wordpress. I have very little experience with Wordpress, but hope to be comfortable with it soon enough!

There are a few changes I plan to announce in 2009 that I hope will be as exciting to you as they are to me! (Business related that is .... no baby announcements are planned as of yet! ... lol)

I wish all of you the best in this new year to come and I hope 2009 will bring happiness, new opportunities, and a stronger economy for all of us!

Love to you all! And Happy New Year!

"Fall" In Love Again

Something fun....

I received my issue of Artful Blogging magazine today (Autumn 2008 issue). This issue is beautiful and filled with inspiring blogs and many of my friends! Carol at Raised in Cotton, Tammy Fischer, Amy at Inspire Co, Cari at What Should We Make Today are all mentioned or featured in addition to many, many more fun blogs.

I was interviewed for this issue and provided some examples of items I have designed for my customers. I am thrilled to be in such good company and was delighted to share some blog design tips with Artful Blogging readers.

If you haven't checked out this magazine yet, please do so. It is so worth the money! They even offer a quarterly subscription at Stampington & Company.

Something new....

Photography

The postcards and charms we sell in the shop that feature my photography have been selling pretty well, and many of you have asked if I will offer prints of my photos. Well, I decided to move forward with this idea and add them to the shop. You can now purchase 5x7 or 8x10 prints of a dozen or so of our best selling photos. All are printed professionally and will take about a week to process when you order them. Each print is printed on Kodak Professional Endura Paper. The standard print life longevity is 100 years in typical home display.

I am loving the challenge of taking new photos that are worthy of being sold in the shop. Thanks to all of you who gently "nudged" me in this new direction. I hope to add many new prints in the near future.

A New Batch of Charms

Just wanted to mention that the second round of charms Cathy and I designed are here and have been added to the shop. We added some new images from the "I Saw Red" event as well as a few others. All the charms feature the vintage linen that I loved so much from the first batch. Head on over to the shop and take a peek. :)

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! :)

Roses are Red

Yeah! It's June! I'm loving seeing all the "I Saw Red" pictures you have posted, I am so tickled that so many of you wanted to play! Thank you! You have inspired me so!

I know I mentioned picking some red roses from my garden, which inspired the event, and I wanted to share some of my favorite pictures from that set of photos...

3bunch

I love that my vintage silverware props are glistening in the background in this one.

3pearls

I love the mix of textures in this one.

3flowerfrog

I love my green flower frog and orange flowered stool in this color combo.

3five

I just thought this one was fun. (You all know how I love typography!).

I wanted to mention that I am being featured on the Women Take Wing blog today. If you have a free moment pop over and give my interview a read and tell me what you think. :)

Thanks for peeking in! I am off to be inspired by your red pictures!

Charming, aren't they?

They're here! They're here! The charms Cathy and I worked on designing together have finally arrived. I spent the last few hours photographing, editing, and getting these beauties online. I know I am biased, but I think they turned out so great! Each one is unique, and some with only subtle differences. I worked my fanny off tonight trying to get every last one on the site. (Which is no small feat, if you saw my "to do" list today!)

I just love how the photos came out for these.  You can click on each photo and it will link you to that charm in the shop. Each charm has one of my embellished photographs on one side, and Cathy's beautiful touches on the other side. I asked her to incorporate some burlap and old stamps in a few, and I love, love how those turned out! Cathy never disappoints me.

I'm sorry to make my last few posts solely about the shop, but sometimes I am so proud of how the pictures turn out when taking product photos, that I feel inspired to share them.

The stucco is getting done on the house this Saturday, so I should have some new photos of the house to share next week. It's also my father-in-laws 60th birthday today, so I will try to snap some good photos over the weekend to share.

Grain sack tablewear

We received a few new table linens in the shop today that are inspired by old grain sacks. They are 100% hand woven and naturally beautiful. Vintage grain sacks have always inspired me, and these placemats and table runners certainly do not disappoint.

I staged my dining room for a mini photo shoot to get these pretties listed in the shop.

They make me want to re-think my kitchen decor to add in some blue!

Thanks for peeking in. :)

New Postcards

The new postcards are in and now in the shop. Thank you to all of you, sweet friends, who have been purchasing these cards. It's so much fun for me to sell something I created myself. I hope to expand to something more than postcards in the very near future. For now, there are nine different designs and two of which, Bienvenue and Love to Read, that have an embellished and non-embellished versions. (The embellishments being the text, swirls, border, and distressing).

Nest Postcards

I'm afraid the charms Cathy and I worked on are not here yet, but I expect them any day now. I will keep you posted for sure. Thank you, as always, for peeking in and for the support!

Inspired by...

I think I better figure out something more to do with my favorite photos, or it is going to be stacks and stacks of postcards around here... :) These two are my latest additions (although the printed postcards are not yet in stock).

Clockfront_3

I bought a bunch of these vintage clock faces after being inspired by an Elizabeth Maxon article. (I think it was in Romantic Homes Magazine, if I remember right?). Anyway, I love the colors, and textures here.

Nestfront_2

This pretty little nest was part of a gift from my friend Kasey.  As you can tell, I am still very into my macro lens.  I may have to get a new lens soon, so I don't keep boring all of you with the same close-up shots. But man, they aren't cheap! Maybe I will win a new lens with the recent purchase of my shootsac... now that would be awesome!

Thanks for peeking in. Happy Thursday everyone!
